Energy for Sustainable Science at Research Infrastructures (ESSRI) 2026 will bring together scientists, engineers, infrastructure managers, policymakers, and industry representatives to discuss the future of sustainable research infrastructures. The event will focus on energy efficiency, circular economy principles, life-cycle assessment, and innovative operational practices that can reduce the environmental impact of large-scale facilities. It will also highlight emerging technologies, including advanced energy management approaches and superconductivity, as part of a broader effort to rethink how research infrastructures are designed and run.
A special emphasis will be placed on involving pre-doctoral researchers, recognising them as essential to building a more sustainable scientific community. Hosted in Salerno, Italy at the Grand Salerno Hotel on September 10-October 2, the workshop will combine three days of discussion and networking with a setting rich in academic tradition, cutting-edge research, and outstanding cultural and natural heritage.
FlexRICAN is represented at ESSRI 2026 in three parallel sessions with consortium partners such as ESS ERIC, ELI ERIC and CNRS LNCMI. Additionally, the FlexRICAN booth will be present during the conference, where the FlexRICAN project Key Exploitable Results will be demonstrated.
